As our name might suggest, we're on a mission. Blue Marble Project is creating 3D models of places and products from around the world. Simply put, we want to create your place or product too.

Why would we want to do that?
Because we're passionate about creating compelling interactive media experiences for our clients.

Who are our clients?
Our clients are people who need help creating 3D computer models and visualizations. Our clients include Building Products Manufacturers, Real Estate Development Companies, Architectural Design Firms, and Government Agencies.

What kind of models and visualizations?
As you can probably imagine, the wide range of Clients that we service keep things interesting. We've created 3D Models of everything from a refrigerator to a Geothermal Drilling Rig Operation; from a 100 Square Ft Kitchen Remodel to a remodel for a 3 million Square Ft Shopping Center; from a Hotel in Los Angeles to a State capitol building in Minnesota; from Solar Panels to Wind Turbines. You name it and we've either modeled it, or at least thought about it.

Why do our clients want 3D Models?
We could launch into some nerdy tangent about the digital information age, blah, blah, etc. But the bottom line is that 3D Models are extremely informational, interactive and engaging. Much more so than traditional 2D media substitutes. To understand the basic nature of what we do, you need only to ask yourself whether you would rather look at a plan view, and 4 (or more) elevation views of something and be required to put the pieces together in your mind - or be given a 3D model that you have the freedom of control to spin around and explore.

For Professional Design Firms, 3D computer models and visualizations have become common place presentation tools within the architectural design profession. The accurate and informative 3D architectural visualizations that we create are used by our clients to communicate with their clients, as well as with city and state planning and approval agencies. By combining Blue Marble Project’s unique expertise in developing 3D models of real world products together with SceneCaster’s simple drag-and-drop interface and new Immersiv 3D Viewer, product manufacturers, brand advertisers and retailers can now offer their customers the unique opportunity to visualize, share, and allow customers to purchase their products in SceneCaster’s 3D “virtual showrooms”. 	EcoScorecard Our partnership with EcoScorecard grew as a result of our dedication to using our technological proficiency as a platform for distributing information about environmentally friendly products and practices. EcoScorecard is a service provider that assists companies with the process of managing their documentation for Green Building Rating Systems. Blue Marble Project is working with EcoScorecard to incorporate a means for embedding Green Data within SketchUp and Revit file formats to make green building information more readily available for AEC Industry Professionals.
	re:Source Blue Marble Project provides interactive 3D SketchUp models and motion graphics for re:Source, a branded video series produced by our parent company Igloo Studios, Inc. re:Source creates AIA Accredited continuing education videos about Sustainable design and building practices.

Our Case Studies

Go Beyond "Status Quo"
Whirlpool has been a strong brand name in households around the world for decades. Their efforts to reach consumers and design professionals have obviously worked: Not too many other companies in the world can boast yearly revenues of over $18B. However, Whirlpool reached the top of its industry by remaining ahead of the curve. When we first met Mark Johnson, Senior Manager of Contract Marketing for the appliance giant, his focus was to find out what more his company could be doing to interact with and assist design professionals. Whirlpool wasn't going to be pleased with the status quo.

Deliver Useful Tools
The company made the decision to convert their products into digital 3D files, and make them freely available to everyone and anyone. Rather than focus on marketing to designers, Whirlpool concentrated instead on delivering useful tools at the point of critical need. In other words: Whirlpool threw the design community a great big life raft. Imagine being on a deadline, and in need of finishing an important client presentation. Then think about how relieved you would be if you found out that you didn't have to stay up all night drawing the kitchen appliances in 3D, from scratch. We thought that was pretty cool too.

Then Educate Audience on How to Use the Tools
However, tools are only useful in the hands of those that understand how to use them. We believe you must also educate your customer to develop a meaningful relationship, and interact with them to create a powerful conversation. We told Whirlpool so, and they agreed. And so we relied on our sister company, School to create a series of educational online videos showing designers how to take advantage of Whirlpool's library of virtual products. The result was a package of 5 videos available for free download online and from Apple's iTunes. We even made sure that professionals could get continuing education credits from their professional trade associations for watching the videos.

As a brand leader in the industry, Whirlpool was the first company to place its products on the Google 3D Warehouse. Now, dozens of companies have joined Whirlpool in embracing the power of this new technology and its ability to reach their target audience at its point of need. Products that make their way into virtual presentations are often products that get specified in the final construction documents. The aforementioned companies are just beginning to reap the benefits of this new medium.
