We were pleased that Google selected our collection for San Francisco, a city near and dear to their hearts. Considering San Francisco is located just a few minutes drive north of the Google headquarters - something tells us we’ll be watched closely…

ESPN features 3D Model of Home Depot Center

ESPN used the Blue Marble Project’s 3D model of the Home Depot Center during a recent broadcast of Major League Soccer. The graphics shown during David Beckham’s first home game for the Los Angeles Galaxy featured the Home Depot center on Google Earth.

NEW YORK — David Beckham’s brief appearance in his first game with the Los Angeles Galaxy was enough to draw a record ESPN audience for a game involving a Major League Soccer team. Saturday night’s exhibition match between the Galaxy and Chelsea on ESPN earned a 1.0 rating and was watched by about 1,468,000 people. MLS’ debut game between D.C. United and the San Jose Clash in 1996 also drew a 1.0 rating. It was watched by about 1,092,000 people.

Trust us: Finding a clear day to photograph buildings in Seattle can be tough. But the city is beautiful, and we’re glad to be a part of building out their virtual skyline.
